WHAT DAMAGE QUALIFIES MY PROPERTY FOR FULL RESTORATION?

When inspecting roofs, we try and search for shingles that are lifting and creased or have been affected by hail damage. When inspecting siding, we look for small dents caused by hail on all elevations or boards that have been separated from the property due to high winds. For interior leaks, we first inspect the surrounding infrastructure to see if there is plumbing near the leaks. If so, insurance companies correlate the leak to the plumbing, but if there is no surrounding plumbing, the leak can be correlated to damage from the roof. All in all, each property requires inspection in order to conclude if the damage meets the necessary qualifications.

HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK IF WE INVOLVE OUR INSURANCE?

If we conclude upon inspection that your property is eligible for full restoration through your insurance company, we will help you to call in the claim with your permission. Once the claim has been opened, an adjuster will be assigned within 24-48hrs to your claim who will then inspect the property themselves and revise an estimate that we use as our official estimate. From this point, approximately half of the estimate amount will be sent directly to you, the homeowner (I.e. if the estimate is $9,000, insurance will send about $4,500-$5,000). In the state of Maryland, a restoration company is only permitted to collect 1/3 of the overall estimate at a time (I.e. if the estimate is $9,000, the homeowner will pay three installments of $3,000 over the course of the project's duration). If you have a mortgage, your insurance company will require that the first check you receive from them be endorsed by your mortgage company, meaning you will need to send your mortgage a signed copy of your contract from us.

HOW LONG WILL THE JOB TAKE?

The simple answer is: it depends! The duration of the project itself is determined by several factors including availability of materials, weather patterns, and the size of the project. Average sized single-family homes that are simply seeking roof replacement may see their project actualized in as little as a day, but larger mansion-style homes seeking remodeling services may see their project actualized over the course of 1-2 weeks depending on the size of the home. In the case of poor weather conditions, we are not permitted to install any roofing materials due to certain weather conditions being necessary for proper adhesion. If we install a roof during poor weather, the warranty through Certainteed may be voided, something we would never allow happen to our clients. It is also important to note that involvement of insurance companies may prolong the completion of the project due to mailing deliveries and/or high work volume.
